Following a successful issue identification process, communities from Manungu, Makonka, and Mulongalwili came together for an Interface Meeting and Feedback Session supported by WaterAid Zambia under the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Revolution (WASH-R) Project.
The engagement provided a platform for open dialogue between community representatives and key stakeholders, including the Council Chairperson, Director Health Services (represented), SWASCO (represented), the Manungu Ward Councilor, and Ward Development Committees (WDCs).
In his opening remarks, the Council Chairperson thanked WaterAid Zambia for its continued support to the district, highlighting that the ongoing WASH interventions in healthcare facilities and schools are a testament to a better Monze a model for other districts.
He further encouraged communities to regularly convene and speak out when things are not going well, emphasizing that accountability begins with collective engagement.
During the session, community members directly interacted with their leaders — asking questions, sharing feedback, and presenting challenges related to water, sanitation, hygiene, and other pressing development issues.
The Interface and Feedback Session served as a vital step in strengthening trust, transparency, and responsiveness between duty bearers and the people they serve.
